Foundation
The purpose of the College Foundation is to promote voluntary tax deductible giving by parents and community to College gift funds. These funds include Building Fund, Scholarship Fund, Library Fund and the Annual Appeal Fund. The Foundation helps to:
- Keep fee increases to a minimum
- Provide quality facilities for students not covered by the tuition fee
- Maintain enrolment accessibility
- Reduce the financial burden of giving via the benefit of tax deductibility
The College Foundation is run by the Foundation Board which consists of members of College Council and the wider community. The Foundation Board meets periodically through the year and makes recommendations to the College Council about how funds are raised and how they are allocated. All funds raised by the College Foundation are distributed to directly benefit the students of the College.
The Building Fund is designed to raise money to purchase land and to construct buildings in the College. Over the last 20 years each successive generation of parents has regularly contributed according to their means to the Fund. Since 1988 over $7mil has been contributed to this fund which has greatly helped the ongoing expansion and development of the College.
The Scholarship Fund is designed to raise money to be distributed to families who wish to access a College education but do not have the financial means to do so. Strict eligibility requirements are applied. This Fund was commenced in 2005 and as a consequence over 50 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 are recipients of scholarships.
The purpose of the Library Fund is to raise money for the collection and the ongoing development of the facility such as building expansion.
Annual Appeals are conducted with a specific purpose each year. In 2007 money was raised to air-condition The Space (music centre). In 2008 money was raised to air-condition the Drama Theatre. Students, staff and parents directly benefit from these improved facilities.
