Romans 8:28

What a fantastic week at the College it has been! A whole range of activities has taken place and I think it’s definitely safe to say that the sporting prowess, musical brilliance and artistic talents have been showcased in a way that would impress any onlooker.

As Natascha said in last week’s blog, we were blessed with a wonderful day for the annual 7-12 Swimming Carnival. Swimmers and ‘doggie-paddlers’ alike took to the pool and all had much fun. The following day, Friday, saw the weekly inter-house sport competition continue (this time on land for those of us less inclined in the pool) with all 12 house competing in either Touch Football or Volleyball in hard fought matches. Whilst some houses were able to escape defeat, it is no false statement to say that no one escaped the hot Aussie weather that we’ve missed this Summer!

This week saw Year 7 head off to camp from Monday to Wednesday. From the reports I have heard it was a fantastic time and everyone is beginning to get to know each other. Keep bonding Year 7!

Year 12 Music Performance was on Tuesday night and 20 performers took to the stage in what was the first of several performances leading to the HSC exams. Year 12 students had the opportunity to begin showcasing their HSC repertoire under performance conditions. Thank you to everyone who attended! For those who missed out there are more Performance Nights coming up later in the year.

It’s a special time of year at the College. All around the grounds during Tutor time people are for some reason painting and decorating boxes for what seems to be some sort of parade and race. Oh wait, that’s right! It’s the BOX CAR RALLY and this year’s theme is “Pokémon”! There is definitely a buzz of anticipation around the College to see who will come as the most creative box and to see who will then win the coveted Box Car Trophy at the conclusion of the Box Car race. I’ve personally been hearing rumours that Mr Carr’s tutor group are looking like strong contenders to take out this years title…

So that’s all from me, having a fantastic week and be encouraged by the message of Romans 8:28:

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

God bless,

James
