Student Leadership
Grounded in Christ, our Student Leadership Program empowers students to serve others, grow in character, and lead with integrity, courage, humility, hope and compassion.
Leadership Through Service
Leadership at the College is first and foremost about service. Students are encouraged to lead by example, using their gifts to build community, support their peers, and contribute meaningfully to College life. Whether through formal leadership roles or everyday acts of kindness, students learn that true leadership is rooted in humility and a desire to make a positive impact.
Formal Leadership Opportunities
We offer a range of structured leadership roles across both Primary and Secondary Schools, giving students the opportunity to develop confidence, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility.
Primary School
- Captains and Vice Captains - Students are selected to represent their peers, assist in College tours, MC at special events, and model respectful behaviour
- House Captains - There are eight House Captains (one for each house)
- Primary also offers CRU Leaders and Library Captains and each Year 6 student leads a vertical buddy stream of children at House
- There are also many informal leadership opportunities such as praying each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at morning lines, announcements for service initiatives at morning lines and serving Preparatory children as play / language buddies.
Secondary School
- College Captains lead the Year 12 Leadership Team and serve as ambassadors for the College. They are expected to: model excellence and earn the respect of staff and peers, cast vision and guide their team in setting and achieving goals, represent the College confidently at internal and external events, lead weekly leadership meetings and coordinate initiatives, support fellow leaders and liaise between students and staff, and oversee the Student Representative Council (SRC)
- College Vice Captains lead specific portfolios and form part of the executive leadership team. They assist the College Captains in guiding the Year 12 Leadership Team and oversee events and initiatives within their domains. The Christ-Centred Community Vice Captain leads the Christian Life Prefects, the Extraordinary Learning Vice Captain leads Academic, Creative Arts, and Sport Prefects, and the Passion to Serve Vice Captain leads the Service Prefects. Vice-Captains also: support Year Prefects, represent the College at key events and oversee the Student Representative Council (SRC)
- House Captains There are eight House Captains, one for each House.
- Year Leaders and House Leaders – Students in Year 7-11 have the opportunity to apply to be Year or House leaders. They represent their respective year and House group for a 12-month period. Year leaders also represent at SRC meetings.
Student Representative Council
Provides a voice for students to share ideas and contribute to school initiatives. It is a platform for students to initiate change, raise questions and requests with the College Executive, promote wellbeing, and strengthen community engagement.
Leadership Development
Leadership is nurtured through workshops, retreats, and mentoring. Students explore topics such as:
- Servant leadership and Christian character
- Conflict resolution and communication
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Ethical decision-making
- Public speaking and advocacy
These experiences equip students to lead with purpose—both within the College and beyond.
A Culture of Influence
We encourage all students to see themselves as leaders—whether they hold a title or not. By fostering a culture of influence, we help students understand that leadership is about making wise choices, standing up for what is right, and inspiring others through action.
