PREFECT INDUCTION SERVICE // The world might associate leadership with power, privilege and position, but Jesus turned that idea on its head. He came to lead by serving. This was the significant message shared by Mr Alex Koch, Head of College, at the recent Prefect Induction Service, a momentous occasion that marked the beginning of a new chapter for our student leaders.
During his address, Mr Koch invited our new Prefects to imagine what it might mean to have the power and influence that comes with leading the world. He then turned our attention to Jesus who, instead of seeking status and recognition, chose a towel and a basin, kneeling to wash the feet of His disciples. Drawing on John 13:3-5, he challenged our Prefects to consider what servant leadership might look like in their own lives.
It is an example we hope will shape the way our newly badged 2026-2027 Prefects lead in the year ahead. We congratulate our incoming College Student Leadership team and pray that they will keep the College’s virtues of compassion, courage, hope, humility and integrity at the heart of their leadership as they encourage and serve those around them.
