NSW CIS and All Schools Triathlon Representatives
General News
Congratulations to our NSW CIS & All Schools Triathlon representatives. On 23 and 24 February a group of our students competed at Sydney Regatta Centre against students from all over NSW.
The Triathlon is a gruelling event for all competitors whether they are competing in a team or as an individual. In each event there could be up to 80 competitors that are all jostling for the best position as a swimmer, cycler and runner.
The William Clarke College students performed extremely well. We are thrilled that Charlotte H was awarded the CIS Gold Medal and All Schools Silver medal in the Junior Girls Individual Race. Charlotte will be competing at the Nationals All Schools competition next week in Tasmania.
In the team events our Junior Relay Triathlon girls of Ruby C, Charlotte H and Charlotte S were awarded the All Schools Gold Medal and Georgia S, Hannah H and Aliyah B were awarded the All Schools Silver Medal. When reflecting on their achievement, the girls spoke of how they approached their section of the event with a clear sense of obligation to each other, to build on each other’s strengths and also focussing on setting small goals throughout the individual leg of the races. They also clearly had a great deal of fun competing. Thank you to Mr James Clarke who provided support and encouragement to all our competitors throughout the Triathlon.
